The purpose of the GCA is to have fun and promote
safety while paddling.
GCA is a member-operated paddling club with over 800 family and corporate memberships
comprising more than 2000 indivduals. Canoeists and Kayakers of all ages and paddling abilities are equally welcome.
Some of our mutual interests include whitewater river running, creeking and playboating, river and lake touring, sea kayaking,
paddle campouts and competition and racing activities. We espouse conservation, environmental and river access
issues as well as boating safety and skills development. Group paddling, training and social activities of all
kinds are conducted throughout the year thanks to the volunteer efforts of our many members and friends. Membership
is NOT limited to Georgia residents.

GCA Christmas Party, December 13th
Hank and Sabrina Klausman will be hosting the GCA
Christmas Party this year. Their address is 874 Hyde Road, Marietta, 30068. Dinner will be from 5 to 7. We are going to do an old-fashioned GCA covered
dish dinner. We are dividing the alphabet and your dish will be determined by the first letter of your last name! The “A”’s
to “H”’s are to bring a meat or entrée. “I”’s to “R”’s will bring a
vegetable or salad”. “S”’s to “Z”’s are to bring a dessert. We will have lots
of food, so the “dishes” don’t have to be enormous. There will be soft drinks provided. Please bring beer,
etc, if you like. Thank you to Hank and Sabrina! Hank has been a
member for too many years to count and this will give some of the new members a chance to meet some of the old timers. Sabrina
was the reason that we created “Ducky Day” back in the 90’s! If we are lucky, Hank will have the video’s
of his big water river trips out west on the screen!

Summer Roll Practice Wraps Up
GCA Summer Roll Practice at Stone Mountain Park is done for the season. We will pick up indoor pool
roll practice around MLK day in January 2009. Watch this page for official announcement.

all you do to support GCA.
